The First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia is an open and inclusive congregation that welcomes and invites all persons to participate, as they are able, in the full range of its services, programs, volunteer, and mission activities. For those who desire to make a commitment to the church, membership is open to all who profess their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and who accept his Lordship in all of life. Persons may enter into active church membership by profession of faith, reaffirmation of faith in Jesus Christ, or by transfer of their membership from another church. The church offers an "Intro to First Church" session for those considering membership to orient them to the Presbyterian Church (USA), as well as to the history and ministry of First Church. Membership in the church does mean an active commitment to participate fully in the life of the church. Faithful attendance at its services, regular participation in its ministries, and responsible financial support are all important attributes of membership at First Church. If you are looking for a church home in Philadelphia, we invite you to consider First Church. You will find further information about our church on the visitor's information table in Old Buttonwood Hall and in the narthex. If you have questions about membership, please speak with Rev. Garner, Rev. Huffstetler, or Rev. Stavrakos, or call during the week at 215-567-0532. We welcome your call! |
